Nah, they're in Houston.

Why do I know that? No reason.

Depends on when; I might still be in Austin for school.

Not sure what you're into. I've only been to Dallas once for a vacation, but you're keen on going to amusement parks Dallas has a 6 Flags that's pretty big.

Austin is famous for 6th street if you like to party. The drag (Guadalupe St) has a huge selection of food establishments like a Mexican restaurant named Fuzzy's, a Whataburger, a Thai How Are You, and various others. During the winter break, there's a pretty popular light walk or something (I've never been to it, so I don't have too many details there). There also might be a concert or event playing at the University around then that might interest you; I saw Bill Cosby before he got arrested.

Lots of touristy stuff in LA. Disneyland, Universal Studios, catch a taping of Conan O Brien/nearly any other TV show you aussies like out there, hollywood tours, Beach/Santa Monica Pier, BBQ at My house, Im sure you can find something to do. Curious though, why so many states? Are you on some sort of tour, or are you doing this on your own?

Going to plan our invasion of the USA.

But for real, only ever been to Seattle in the USA so I'm trying to see all the good stuff.

And I might take you up on that BBQ.

Thanks for the suggestions guys! Keep them coming!

San Fran - if you drink wine, you can spend 1-2 days in Napa Valley (about 1 hour drive from san fran), arguably the best wine in the world outside of Tuscany and France. Separate from that, on Wednesday nights, there is a food truck gathering at the Menlo Park train station that is legit. If you like ice hockey - San Jose Sharks are a good team (currently in the Cup Finals). Unfortunately, I'm not too big of a fan of the actual city of San Fran, it's a bit too touristy, although Ghirardelli Square is pretty awesome if you like chocolate. Fisherman's wharf is ok if they are having the street fair, but that is crowded. The sea lions at the wharf are entertaining but only for like 10 minutes tops and not worth the crowd.

Vegas - anything and everything. Rent fast cars and race them in the desert. Pool parties, clubs. Go to the off-beat casinos for the $1 table min games as opposed to the higher scale ones where it's like $25 min. If you play poker, planet Hollywood has the JTM-tier scrubs to grind the wins by simple slow play. Cirque d' Soleil is really good - O is the best one probably followed by Ka - both super different in style and taste. Emeril's restaurants are overrated and overpriced - I would avoid; Bellagio buffet is pretty good - unlimited champagne for $20 or free if you flirt with the waitress. Red rock canyon can provide a good morning hike - only 20 min away from the strip; otherwise awesome awesome hiking at the state borders (Utah/Arizona) which is like half day away if you have enough time to devote to that area (2 days). Back in vegas - beware the occasional passed out black man with a death grip on his bills
Spoiler for Hiden:

Austin - 6th street is legit; on Friday evenings/nights the street is shut down for the rabble

Washington DC - Ray's Hell Burger, 1650 Wilson Blvd, Arlington, VA 22209

New York - Museum of Natural History is my favorite museum; Wicked is my favorite Broadway musical; I haven't personally been to the World Trade Center memorial yet but I hear it is nice and no longer requires reservations; I'd avoid the ball drop for new year's eve unless you enjoy holding your pee in for 10 hours. Ippudo for ramen, Del Frisco's for steak (Peter Luger is overrated), Fette Sau for BBQ (this is in Greenpoint, Brooklyn). Outside of NY, you cannot get good pizza, bagels, deli sandwiches, Jewish food (knishes, kafilta gefilte fish, pickled herring, etc), or even Italian so you can't go wrong with food in general. Bronx Zoo is the biggest zoo in the US and the animals are very active during the winter months. NY Philharmonic has a great holiday medley concert around that time of year. I tried opera/ballet, but couldn't personally get into it, but NY is good for that too if you are interested. Williamsburg/Greenpoint for the hipster crowd; Upper East Side for the yuppies; Midtown for the tourists; SoHo/NYU area is college towny; FiDi is dead at night.

Orlando - go to Disney World if you haven't ever - there is something for everyone.

Jason just became my new travel agent. Thanks mate, I'll put those all into my itinerary.

Driving La -> San Fran -> Vegas so I'll try and get up to Napa as well.

Thats a terrible fucking order. LA is 6 hours south of San Fran. Vegas is about 4 hours east of LA. In fact, driving from San Francisco to vegas takes you back nearly through Los Angeles! Do San Francisco - > Los Angeles -> Vegas or Vegas -> Los Angeles -> San Francisco

Oh yeah, Texas BBQ if you're ever up to have a heart attack. I hear Franklin's is really good, but there's limited space and you have to wait in a line.

Figured as much. So you're hitting LA first then. Not really sure whats your best course then, thats a lot of wasted time spent driving haha.

Are you driving the whole country? Or are you planning some flights?

Hell I've never driven the country lol

I guess 45 days is a fuckton of time

Between LA and San Fran is Hearst Castle - which is like a 2-hr tour, kind of cool if you like tours of rich people's homes.

If you are a fan of the original The Exorcist, the stairs where she falls down at the end can be found in an alleyway by Georgetown University in the D.C. area. If you don't know what stairs I'm talking about don't even bother going, it was just a fun fact.

Only driving those parts. Internal flights for the rest of it.
